The Contest Is Over, But Keep Creating!

Well, the contest is over; we've published the winners and our selection of the best entries, so we're afraid this website is going to go into hibernation. However! If you've come to the site either days or even months after the close of the contest, please don't ignore the opportunity that we've left you, as we have licensed the two original Dr. Dobbs Challenge games under the zlib license so you can happily mod them and develop your own works on their code basis no matter when you start!

The Dobbs Challenge - Contest Winners Announced!

It's been an intense few days of judging and we'd like to congratulate all of our entrants for their remarkable work in modding the original Dr. Dobbs Challenge games into a variety of amazing and very different games!

We'll be making our critic's choice of all the entrants available for download on the site starting tomorrow, but we can't hold the suspense any longer -- without further ado, we'd like to announce the winners of the inaugural Dobbs Challenge, selected by our panel of expert judges.

Friday the 13th is famously unlucky for some, but make sure it's not unlucky for you by submitting your entry for the Dobbs Challenge by the end of today, to ensure you've got your chance at the remaining $9,000 in prizes we have to offer!

If you've been keeping up with the blog you might think that we've been banging on about the deadline a bit, but we just don't anyone to miss out at the chance of getting their game looked at by our judges. So lets state it once again, as clearly as possible -- you have to submit your game to us by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (check the world clock if you're not sure what time that is for you).
