One Month Left!
[05/15/08]
Things have been quiet (perhaps a little too quiet) here at The Dobbs Challenge and particularly in the forums, which makes us pretty sure that you're all too busy beavering away at your entries to talk! However, we'll still like to remind you all that time is now of the essence, with the contest to close in less than one month's time on June 13th. Categories still open for entry include Best Windows Game, with a $4,000 prize, and Best Windows Mobile Game, with a $2,000 prize, so there's still some serious scratch on offer!

And The First Winner Is…
[04/22/08]
It is with great honor that we can announce to you the winner of the first prize on offer as part of The Dobbs Challenge – The Dobbs First Month Challenge. First Month Challengers
[04/17/08]
2008_04_17_thumb.jpgIt would be an absolute understatement to say we've been blown away by the quality of the entrants to the Dobbs First Month Challenge. We thought that even with $1000 on the line to the best entrant with a mere month to develop a serviceable work-in progress it was just going to be too much work.

We were, happily, proven wrong and there's a strong crop of games now available up on the Critic's Choice download section for you to check out -- including a one button fighting game from Alexkr; Badly Drawn Robots, which can be best described as "Robotron Meets Castle Wolfenstien Meets Dr. Dobbs" and Dobbs Derby, possibly the most ambitious total conversion we've seen yet, which turns Dr Dobbs Challenge into a racing game!

Off To A Flying Start!
[03/24/08]

Well, we’re a little over a week into The Dobbs Challenge and there’s already been a lot of activity on our forums, with a lots of questions about how to participate and lots of progress on people’s mods!

Most important so far is to make sure everyone is aware that we’re happy for teams to enter the competition (as long as one person is in charge of submission) and to make sure no one forgets that there are now only three weeks left before the end of The Dobbs First Month Challenge ($1,000!) -- so make sure to get cracking before April 14th!
