Using other languages within MSVS 2008? 2008/03/25 02:13
Hi, are we only limited on using C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008,
can we also use other .Net languages such as C# since it is also part
of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008?

Thanks.

The original games were coded in C++, so we expect you to code in C++ when modifying the games (remember, your submissions must be based on either the Windows or Windows Mobile version of Dr. Dobbs Challenge).

In fact, I'm not sure how you could code in any other language -- if you know of a way (files in other language interacting with the main files coded in C++?) we're open to hearing about it.

Thanks,

Hello Mathew thanks for the reply, I already downloaded the windows
version and the code is well written and straight forward.

I just have this crazy idea of mine to use my own graphic engine
written in C# and XNA rather than using other 3rd party library, not
actually interacting but porting the original C++ games as my basis and
enhanced or mod the game where 2 players can play in half 3d environment
adding some eye candy and extra fun factor but retaining the original
game concept, spirit, genre and characters.

But to be safe I think I'll gonna use C++ and some other open source
library that suites to my idea and also comply with the contest rules.
